Tips & tricks for teriyaki pork chops sauce
- If you’re using a non-stick pan, then you can cook your pork chops in their sauce without any oil. The sauce should stick to the meat easily instead of sliding off. If you’re using an uncoated pan, it’s a good idea to add a little bit of olive oil.
- This helps keep the teriyaki sauce from burning as it sticks to the meat and also gives your meat a nice sheen while cooking it.
- You can use this recipe for chicken as well.
- If you use a food thermometer to check for doneness, the pork should be cooked through 145.
- If you add the sauce during the last 10 minutes of cooking, your meat will finish cooking before all of the sauce is absorbed into it.
- If you skip this step, then your meat will finish cooking without absorbing all of the sauce and you’ll have extra left at the end.
- If you’re not familiar with this kind of food, then this recipe is still easy to make.

A great meal that is not only easy to make but also low in calories. Lean pork chops marinated with teriyaki sauce and grilled. Enjoy these mouthwatering pork chops with pineapple over brown rice or a steamed vegetable.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Pork Chops (boneless, trimmed of excess fat)
- 1/2 cup Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic Salt
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Combine teriyaki sauce, garlic salt, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Pour marinade over pork chops. Stir to coat all the chops evenly with the marinade and cover with plastic wrap. Marinate for at least 4 to 6 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Places a sheet of foil on a flat baking pan or dish, making sure the foil is not longer than 8×11 inches (I used a 9 x 12-inch dish). Use one sheet of foil to cover the entire baking pan or dish. Press hard into the foil so that air can’t get under it.
- Place pork chops and pineapple on the foil. Cover with the second sheet of foil. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until meat is cooked through (internal temperature of 160F).
- Uncover and drizzle 2-3 TBSP of teriyaki sauce around the edge of the dish, or brush on from a squirt bottle if you prefer not to use a spoon. Broil for 2 minutes or until drippings caramelizes and glaze over the pineapple slices in chunks.
- Serve with rice or any other vegetable of your choice.
- This recipe would be great for a family or dinner party. It’s not as fancy as some but it sure does the trick and is hard to mess up! This is a recipe that I will definitely be trying again in the future! Give it a shot and let us all know what you think!
Tips & tricks
- You can use any type of teriyaki sauce you like as long as it is a high-quality one and has no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, and no hydrogenated oils. If you have low-fat teriyaki sauce, you can substitute a healthier flavor than the high-fat ones! Just try and make sure that the total calories are within range for your eating habits!
- You can use thin-cut boneless pork chops or leave the outer fat on for extra flavor and juiciness. The recipe will work with either. I personally prefer the latter but if you want to use the pork chops you get from your deli, be sure to trim most of the fat from them! It’s a lot easier than it sounds and it allows for a leaner meal without compromising on taste.
- You can cubes the meat for a thicker sauce if you wish instead of stirring it in. It definitely makes the dish richer but it is still delicious! Just be sure to add all the seasonings on top like I mentioned above or add them in as needed. Make sure you stir after every 30 seconds or so. You will know when it is time to stir because you will notice the flavors mingle together.
- The longer the pork chops are marinated, the more flavorful it will become. The longer you marinate them, the stronger the flavor and they will develop a nice crust on them. If you want a less intense teriyaki sauce, you can skip marinating for only 30 minutes and just refrigerate overnight!
- If you are marinating the pork chops in the morning and need them in the evening, make sure to refrigerate them overnight. The longer they sit out, the more flavor they will develop. I usually just cover them with plastic wrap and leave them out on my countertop but it still tastes great if they have been sitting long enough.
- If you don’t have a skillet large enough to fit 4 pork chops at once, then just sear individual pieces of pork or chicken in batches.
Teriyaki pork chops are a delicious dish that is made by browning pork chops and then cooking them with a sweet and tangy sauce. The deliciousness that is created from this recipe comes from the flavors of soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, and mirin. These ingredients create a wonderful balance of heat and sweetness in the dish which takes it up several levels as an amazing meal.
